Edmund Koh and his family arrived in New Zealand in 1994.
He quickly found employment at a local cake shop before training at Auckland’s University of Technology. One of his earliest dreams, to work as Pastry Chef in a leading five star hotel, came true when he was made Executive Pastry Chef at Auckland’s Stamford Plaza.
A year later Ed competed at The New Zealand Culinary Competition. His Celebration Gateaux, Confectionary Showpiece and Dessert Presentation wowed the judges and they awarded him the prestigious New Zealand Pastry Chef of the Year Cup.
